Agricultural Museum of Mykonos (Boni’s Mill)

The spot where this open-air museum is located dominates above Chora, offering the best view towards the sunset and the Aegean Sea. It is a stone structure from the 16th century and owes its name to the surname of its last owner-miller, Georgios Bonis. It became part of the "Folklore Collection" through purchase in 1962. The mechanism, tools, and all its equipment are still exhibited, and together with the surrounding buildings related to agricultural work, it forms a unique open-air museum in the Aegean. The production of bread and wine, fundamental and invaluable goods of the pre-industrial processing chain and the daily life of the islander, is fully understood in this open-air museum. An essential complementary building is the miller's house.
